Fine Gardener/Horticulturist, Cape Cod, MA Parterre Garden Services, Inc.

Parterre Garden Services, one of Greater Boston’s leading horticultural services and fine gardening companies is searching for eager individuals with a passion for gardening for our growing company. The successful Gardener at Parterre is interested in all aspects of horticulture from container design to the seaside landscape, perennial garden maintenance and care, pest and disease identification, and promotion of sustainable practices in the green industry. As a Horticulturist at Parterre you will have the opportunity to consistently learn and hone your skills in the field while maintaining some of the most highly regarded landscapes in the area. Our gardeners create and maintain landscapes for clients who truly appreciate our craft and professionalism.

Experience:

Candidates should possess strong working knowledge of annual and perennial plant materials utilized in bed plantings and seasonal containers
General working knowledge of lawn care, IPM, irrigation, arbor care, proper pruning practices
Container design and installation
Exterior and interior holiday décor installation
Experience working on residential landscapes is preferred
Responsibilities

Primary role of this position is to work closely with Field Managers and fellow gardeners to ensure the highest quality garden care for our client’s properties
Perform exceptional and detailed gardening services: weeding, mulching, planting, deadheading, pruning, watering, fertilization, pest control
Maintenance of woody, perennial and annual material
·        Container/annual planting and maintenance

·        Hand pruning of material up to 12’

·        Mulching and composting

·        Holiday Decorating

 

Requirements

·        Love of the outdoors

·        Attention to detail and commitment to excellence

·        Ability to work both independently and with a team

·        Strong organizational skills

·        1 year experience in the green industry a plus

·        Strong work ethic, demonstrable ability in prioritization

·        Current MA driver’s license

·        Use of own vehicle required

Own transportation and valid driver’s license required
Job requires physical stamina associated with many garden tasks, such as plant installations, mulching, weeding, hauling debris in a variety of weather conditions
Ability to lift 40 lbs
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication and organizational skills a must
Compensation & Benefits:

 

Full- time seasonal position starting mid March and ending mid December
